Actress Kriti Sanon marked her Bollywood debut with 2014 film Heropanti co-starring Tiger Shroff. Since then, the actress has been climbing up the success ladder by delivering stellar performances in films like Dilwale, Housefull 4, Bareily Ki Barfi. Despite nepotism in Bollywood, Kriti Sanon has managed to carve her niche even after being an outsider. Now, opening up about her struggles, during an interview, the Mimi actress opens up about battling societal judgement and reveals how her relatives tried to demotivate her when she took the decision. Speaking with Pinkvilla.com, during an interview, Kriti Sanon spoke about the struggles she faced while she decided to be a Bollywood actress. Talking about how she battled societal perceptions, Kriti revealed that there was once a point when she had thought of coming to Mumbai to try in films, but then shared how there were a few relatives and friends who felt things wouldn’t work for her. She said, “Then, there were a few relatives and friends felt, 'I don't think it's going to work, industry achhi nahi hai. Bohut log struggle kar rahe hai; Shaadi nahi hogi tumhari jaldi. I have heard things like that. A lot of that."
As the Lukka Chuppi actress disclosed how her relatives mentioned to her that the industry is not great and she won’t get married sooner due to that. Kriti Sanon then went on to share how everyone’s perception towards her has changed as she climbed up the charts. The Mimi actress said, “Today, the same people talk to me like they're really proud of me which they are. It obviously feels great.” With Kriti explaining how she feels good about everyone is proud of her success, she went on to mention how she came from nowhere and never had thought of becoming an actor.
Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon also shared how she was an engineer, and acting wasn't the space she had thought of at all. Work-wise, while Kriti spends time at home maintaining social distancing, the actress has films Bachchan Pandey and Mimi in the pipeline.
